JYE_4488.jpg

Having started at Tradelink as Marketing Assistant fresh out of University and eventually becoming Local Area Marketing Co-ordinator, I had access to a wide-reaching role that touched on some aspect of almost all of Tradelink's marketing activity.

Marketing Assistant - Tradelink - 2021 - 2023

In this role - I completed many of the responsibilities outlined above (with the exclusion of social media management) that would continue in my later role as Local Area Marketing Coordinator.

Some of the other responsibilities I had as Marketing Assistant were:

  • Processed all marketing related P.O.s and Invoices - including tracking yearly budget and invoice expenses for Tradelink's entire marketing department

  • Collated and sent weekly all company newsletter email & PDF version uploaded to company Intranet

    • During this time, I re-designed it to have a cleaner, more stylish design, organising content by relevance to in-store staff

  • Collated & wrote monthly long-form journalistic feel-good articles about Tradelink for the newsletter of our parent company Fletcher Building sent to all Fletcher Building employees

  • Filmed, edited and uploaded Tradelink CEO Message to Staff

  • Re-designed company Intranet - removing old info, updating design and creating more user friendly navigation

  • Sole person responsible for all updates to company Intranet website - the primary resource for accessing essential
    company documentation

    • I actually completely re-designed the company Intranet from the ground up migrating it from the 2003 Program it was built on to Microsoft Sharepoint, a modern online service

      • This plan was never implemented however due to the desire by management for each department to cull their years worth of old content before migration which was never made a priority

  • Created internal company websites - Created "Builders Central" using Microsoft Sharepoint, an internal website with assets and information relevant to Tradelink's Sales Department applying for tenders on building projects.

    • Included all graphic design for website elements - including overall look and layout of webpages

    • Complete creation of all webpages and website navigation

    • Organisation of files in the backend of Sharepoint

  • Assisted with creation of branded merchandise items - including limited run company merchandise for specific events

  • Wrote blog content, and other guide content, for Tradelink.com.au

    • Also included uploading blogs to the website, including sourcing and formatting images

"Builders Central" Internal Website I Created for Sales Staff

During my time at Tradelink I also completed many individual projects which came up which are hard to describe in the context of my role. An example is creating custom product stickers for an up-scale luxury Tradelink store targeted at Interior Designers and Architects, which had a unique layout unlike our other stores. This included manually measuring all of the neccessary sizes needed in-person, briefing these sizes to an external graphic designer to create a template and then manually populating each of the tickets myself with the correct name and price of the relevant product. This project had to be completed in time for the opening event, and took over 2 weeks of dedicated work.

A second example is a request by our sales staff for Tradelink branded toiletries bags. After our initial supplier fell through at the last moment - I personally drove around to every K-Mart in Brisbane buying 700 cheap toiletries bags, drove them the next morning to a small scale screenprinter who applied our logo overnight, and priority shipped them down to Melbourne in time for the event 2 days later.

Deli Server - White's Bli Bli IGA - 2013 - 2021

During highschool and university, I held a part-time job in the delicatessen of my local IGA.

This job taught me many valuable skills which would become useful in my later career, including:

- How to manage staff

- How to talk with and solve customers problems

- Maintaining composure in a busy work environment

- Completing tasks on schedule
